Wiktoria Jurkiewicz is a Canadian-Polish soprano and oboist based in Edmonton, Alberta. She holds a Bachelor of Music in Voice and Oboe from the University of Alberta and is currently building an emerging career across vocal and instrumental performance. A versatile artist, she is active as a performer and educator with experience spanning across opera, orchestral work, contemporary popular music, chamber music, and is available for engagements across North America and Europe.
As a soprano, Wiktoria has performed with the University of Alberta Opera Theatre as Lady Billows in Britten’s Albert Herring, Second Lady in Mozart’s Die Zauberflöte, and Josephine Strong in Urinetown. Her concert appearances include performances with the University Symphony Orchestra in Haydn’s Scena di Berenice and the Royal Canadian Artillery Band in Frank Ticheli’s Angels in the Architecture, both at Edmonton’s Winspear Centre. She has also performed with Edmonton Opera’s Core Chorus, and her vocal achievements include first place at the Anne Burrows Music Foundation Competition and recognition as the 2025 student participant for the prestigious Rumbold Vocal Prize. Upcoming engagements include Fiordiligi in Mozart’s Così fan tutte with the Vienna Opera Academy.
As an oboist, Wiktoria has performed with the University Symphony Orchestra, Symphonic Wind Ensemble, Edmonton Youth Orchestra, and River City Chamber Orchestra. Following her success at the Northern Alberta Concerto Competition, she appeared as soloist with the Edmonton Youth Orchestra in Goossens’ Oboe Concerto at the Winspear Centre. She is also the recipient of the Alberta Baroque Ensemble Competition Award and has continued to expand her artistry through participation in the Domaine Forget de Charlevoix oboe intensive, where she worked with distinguished oboe clinicians affiliated with the Juilliard School and the Conservatoire de Paris.
A passionate educator, Wiktoria teaches voice and oboe through Long & McQuade and maintains an active private studio. Her teaching experience includes voice, oboe, songwriting, music theory, and aural skills. She has also served as a substitute conductor for ensembles and has shared her love of horses through horseback riding instruction.
